Obtained her law degree with honours from SANTA MARIA LA ANTIGUA UNIVERSITY, PANAMA and a Master of Laws from CORNELL UNIVERSITY LAW SCHOOL, Ithaca, N.Y., U.S.A. specializing in Commercial & Maritime Law.

Active in professional and business associations, has served on the Board of Directors of the Maritime Law Association of Panama and the Panamanian Association of Business Executives.

Practiced in London for 6 years as founding resident attorney for a Panamanian law firm.

As of 1989, has her own private practice in the areas of Corporations, Commercial and Shipping Law of Panama, including civil and administrative matters such as taxes, contracts, real estate transactions, immigration, labour permits, etc. Acts as legal adviser to local and foreign companies and to the Colon Free Trade Zone Merchants Association and INTERED Panama (Internet Service Providers Association).

Has participated at meetings of the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force in Aruba and Trinidad & Tobago and Free Trade Area of the Americas Conference e-commerce talks in Miami and has served in several national committees.

NORA AROSEMENA
Attorney-at-law, authorized to practice law by the Supreme Court of Panama, 1983.

Obtained her law degree with honours from SANTA MARIA LA ANTIGUA UNIVERSITY, PANAMA and a Master of Laws from COLEGIO MAYOR DE NUESTRA SEÑORA DEL ROSARIO, Bogotá, Colombia, specializing in Commercial Law.

Held different government positions in two administrations, including appointments as Deputy Minister of Labour, Deputy Minister of Housing and Deputy Minister of Education.

Has participated as delegate in numerous international meetings and congresses representing Panama.

In between her government appointments has practiced law in the areas of real estate, commercial and corporate law.
